On the product information on the website, it is often seen that the applicable environment for explosion-proof products is written as "Suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas; IIA and IIB explosive gas environments". Among them, IIA and IIB explosive gas mixtures have already been introduced. Now let's introduce the division of Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2 for explosive gas environments.
China adopts an equivalent method to IEC for the classification of explosive hazardous areas. According to the national standard GB 50058-92, explosive gas hazardous areas are divided into three levels based on their degree of danger: Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2. Explosive dust hazardous areas are divided into two levels: Zone 0 and Zone 11.
Zone 0: Environment with continuous or long-term occurrence of explosive gas mixtures
Zone 1: Environments where explosive gas mixtures may occur during normal operation
Zone 2: Environments where explosive gas mixtures are unlikely to occur during normal operation, or where even if they occur, they only exist for a short period of time
Zone 10: Continuous or long-term explosive dust environment
Zone 11: Environments where accumulated dust is sometimes raised and explosive dust mixtures occasionally occur
Zone 21: An environment with a flammable liquid with a flash point higher than the ambient temperature, which can cause a fire in terms of quantity and configuration
Zone 22: An environment with suspended or accumulated combustible dust or fibers that may not form explosive mixtures but can pose a fire hazard in terms of quantity and configuration
Zone 23: An environment with fixed combustible substances that can cause fire hazards in terms of quantity and configuration
