How to distinguish the explosion-proof level of LED explosion-proof lights

Time:2023-09-12 Views:0

The explosion-proof and waterproof concepts of LED explosion-proof lights are completely different. LED explosion-proof lights are widely used in many fields. In practical operation, LED explosion-proof lights can display good performance and can be safely powered on without the need for equipment such as ballasts and voltage regulators. In addition, they also demonstrate excellent security. They are currently considered lighting equipment for hazardous industrial applications such as chemical companies and oil fields. For explosion-proof levels, such as LED explosion-proof lights, explosion-proof and waterproof levels are two important parameters, as detailed below:

Generally speaking, the waterproofing requirement we refer to is IP65-IP68. The number of protection levels represents the following meanings: 6 in IP65 indicates no dust entry, and 5 indicates no harmful effects from water spraying in all directions. The front 6 of IP66 refers to the absence of dust, while the back 6 refers to strong water spraying onto the casing without any harmful effects. 6 in IP67 indicates no dust entry, and 7 indicates water immersion at the specified pressure. After a specific period of time, the water in the casing will not reach harmful levels. In IP68, 6 refers to no dust entering, and 8 refers to the conditions agreed upon by the manufacturer and user (which should be harsh when the feature number is 7). After continuous diving, the water inflow into the casing did not reach a harmful level.

For explosion-proof levels, generally speaking, everyone must understand that explosion-proof and waterproof are two different concepts. Some defective manufacturers sell waterproof LED lights as explosion-proof LED lights. Waterproof LED lamps belong to ordinary lighting. If LED explosion-proof lamps can cause a short circuit in water and cause a fire, if explosion-proof lamps are not selected in hazardous areas, it will lead to on-site accidents and cause casualties. Therefore, explosion-proof and waterproof are two concepts. What type of explosion-proof form is used? The user should clearly explain the level of protection used, and as a manufacturer, it should also be clearly explained.
