Explosion proof lamps cannot do without transparent parts, which are the lowest strength component among the shell components. Therefore, the reliability of the installation of transparent parts directly affects the safety performance of explosion-proof lamps.
Below is an analysis of three commonly used installation methods for transparent components: a) directly sealed inside the casing, forming a whole with the casing. This method is simple, practical, and widely used. The sealing material should be rubber parts that are resistant to temperature and oil, or adhesive such as epoxy resin should be used to seal the transparent parts inside the shell and press them tightly.
b) Secure the transparent parts directly inside the casing with or without pads. When no padding is used, the smoothness of the joint surface of the transparent part is required to be high. It is generally suitable for small flat glass and the joint part of the glass should be ground flat at the same time, otherwise the glass will be subjected to uneven force and easily broken.
c) Sealed or glued to a frame, which is fastened inside the casing, allowing for the replacement of the transparent parts as a whole. This structure is rarely used in lighting fixtures, and on some large equipment that requires frequent replacement of transparent parts, the transparent parts and frame are replaced as a whole component.
The sealing between the transparent component and the frame can refer to the type in a). Structurally, it is important to ensure that the force exerted on the transparent component (generated by internal explosions) is directly transmitted to the metal casing. It is not appropriate to transfer the force through the pressure plate or screws of the transparent component to the metal casing. Additionally, the transparent component should not be subjected to stress after installation, in order to ensure reliable bonding between the transparent component and the casing.
